Gary, I disagree with some of your recommendations in this file,
especially in the GUI terminology section. I don't have time to
write in detail on this at the moment, but I will do so later.

My take on GUI terms would be to follow the exact spelling and
capitalization of them as expressed in either the tooltips or the
menuitems in the UI. Therefore, these terms would be uniform in the
various chapters and guides among all writers, reviewers, or editors.
In the past we have used multiple versions of some of them. It's no
big issue, but keeping them uniform throughout all our documentation
seems the way to go. It would be very simple to find out how they are
expressed--just refer to the UI (assuming that they are uniform among
the various platforms). Any comments?
Not worth arguing about. Although I dislike the resulting
capitalization in many cases, your reason (uniformity) are good, so
I'll let it go.

Doing so is essentially continuing the capitalization distinction
between common and proper nouns in English, as determined by the GUI
developers in this case. As I mentioned before, if your (or another's)
personal preference is to not have all those "proper" nouns, then
petition the developers to modify them (not capitalize or whatever) via
an issue.
