Base Guide is Dan Lewis, who put a partially completed draft of the first
chapter in the Base folder in late May. At the time he mentioned he had

This looks like a good place to update my progress. I have been doing
some more writing on chapter 1 of the Base Guide. I am now working in the
Query section. This leaves the Reports and using Base with other data
sources as well as with other parts of OOO (Writer and Calc). Until July
6th, I should have about half a day each day on Base. We will see how much
I
can get done during this period of time. I hope to have the first chapter
done by July 6th.

Hi Dan,
Started talking on the dba users mailing list regarding Search / Filter
functions in Base - planning on a 'simplistic most likely' overview of the
feature for public access.
If there is anything I'm doing that would be of interest for the manual -
well..just wanted to give a heads up I suppose.

I would love to see your overview as soon as you can. Once I see
it, I might have some additional questions. There are still so very many
things that I do not understand about databases.
Is there some place where I can get more information about the Sun
Report Builder extension. I would like to know how it works, but I can't
seem to figure out how to use it to create a report. First problem is
where to put the fields and labels. Second problem is inserting a
function into a field. Third problem is inserting another function into
another field which will use the results of an earlier created function.
