It seems to me that the OOoAuthors list is to be used for
discussions concerning the development and updating of the user
guides or other discussions involving doing our work in a better way.
I know of no reason why it should be put on gmane or on another mail
to news gateway.
If "L" is interested in working with us to produce the quality
materials we seek, let him/her subscribe to the mailing list, let us
know how he/she can help, and then get involved.
Perhaps someone else would like to comment about this?
As far as I know, OOoAuthors is not available through gmane or another
mail to news gateway. We discussed this back in 2005 and concluded
that there was no good reason to do so.
I appreciate that some people prefer news readers to email or other
ways of following mailing lists, but in this case there seems to be no
advantage to us, for the reasons Dan noted above.
I'm curious: is the dev-d...@ooo list on gmane? It is also a list for
a workgroup, unlike (say) us...@ooo or disc...@ooo.
