What is the best glossary term to use to describe this area (outlined in

The document I am reviewing calls it a page, but the Sun Glossary (
http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/805-4368) suggests that Dialogue Box is a
better term based on my research.

What is the standard term used here to identify that area?

Thanks
Company style guides tend to refer to these things as windows, panes, panels, dialog (US English spelling) boxes, pages, and sometimes as tabbed pages when they tabs. European usage sometimes uses dialog instead of dialog box, but some the company style guides I have used have admonished that dialog not be used as they stated that dialog was a different concept than a dialog box.

I tend (1) to use window when the GUI element does not have a title, (2) to use dialog box usually if there is a title for it, and (3) to use page when it is selected by a tab.
