Some of the frames in a OO Writer document I was working on disappeared suddenly. Initially I was able to see those missing frames as the document loaded. The text was not loaded at this point. Then when it was finished loading and all the text was there, those frames just disappeared.
After scouting around a bit, I learnt that if they are set to 'Anchor to page',
there is a possibility that they might disappear. Does anyone know if there's
any way to make them re-appear? Im certain they still 'exist' in the document,
they r just not visible.

I have seen this happen in long documents with lots of illustrations in frames. Actually I can see the frames themselves (because I have all the text, object, and table boundaries showing) but not the contents of the frames.

Usually if I close the file and reopen it and DO NOTHING FOR A MINUTE OR TWO, the contents reappear in the frames. But not always.

I know several ways to get the contents to show again, but I don't have time right now to find my explanation. When I do find it, I'll put it on the forum because this is a common problem.

This first thing I would check is in Tools > Options > Memory. Changing some settings, eg "number of objects" in the cache may solve the problem.

AFAIK, frames anchored "to page" only disappear when the doc becomes a subdoc in a master doc.
