Why is the default font for that character style preset to: HMPDP D+ Myriad Pro;Myriad Pro? Why doesn't it just use the font of the paragraph style which would contain this character style--something like the "As is" selection in FrameMaker?

Where are you finding this? Mine appears to be preset to Times New Roman 12 pt. (Ubuntu 9.04, OOo-dev3.2m4 -- haven't checked any of the Windows setups).

I just checked the character styles with the latest version of 3.2 (OOo-dev 3.2 m4 build 9450), and the Default Paragraph Font is not among them. The rub is that I have no recollection of ever creating such a character style that must have been an OOo-predefined character style--now listed as a custom style in the Stylist. Was this style once included for some testing reason or whatever of the developer snapshot versions--the ones that I tend to use?

Well, the Default Paragraph Font style lists fonts that were never installed here, and its/their naming seems very odd.

What I want is to achieve is a default paragraph character style that just assumes whatever character font for whatever paragraph style used--like the "As is" selection that FrameMaker employs. Whenever I delete the God-awful default font that is present in Default Paragraph Font, it keeps returning. Is there a means to keep that font field empty?
