BTW, this is only one of a series of issues related to to the use of
custom styles, several of which cause us hassles.

There is a clever, "dirty" workaround newly posted on the issue. It
occurs to me that you might be able to use something similar in the
master doc itself, in text sections between the links, which would be
much faster and easier.
