Be sure the chapters and the master document are in the same
directory. You may need to change the names of the linked files in the
master document to match the names of the translated chapter files --
or make a copy of the translated files and name them to match the
filenames in the master document.
Some chapters have errors in some of the cross-references when they
are put into a book. They had to be fixed manually. The method that
works best for me is to export the master document and all the subdocs
to one ODT and make the changes manually in that file. Details about
exporting to ODT are in the Master Docs chapter of the Writer Guide.
