Hello,
I have just started using autofs and I am having trouble getting it to
mount my SMB shares. In the man page (autofs(5)), it says the proper format
to map an SMB drive is
windoze -fstype=smbfs ://windoze/c
but the howto say it is
windoze -fstype=smbfs windoze:/c
Either way, it doesn't work for me. In syslog I get:
May 9 12:44:02 clip automount[1454]: attempting to mount entry
/misc/windoze
May 9 12:44:02 clip automount[1534]: cannot find mount method for
filesystem smbfs
Mounting works fine if I do it manually with smbmount.
I am running RedHat Linux 6.0 with kernel version 2.2.7. Autofs support is
compiled as a module and loaded. Smbfs support is compiled directly into
the kernel. I'm running the autofs 3.1.3 that comes with RedHat 6.0. My
Samba tools version is 2.0.3.
Please help,
Carl Thompson
