I've just loaded RedHat 6.0 (Intel) to give Linux a try and am
having difficulty getting autofs working completely.

My nis-served auto.master is--

        /net -hosts -soft
        /home auto.home
        /- auto.direct

I see from /usr/doc/autofs-3.1.3/TODO that the -hosts (/net) special
map not yet implemented. But I'm also having trouble with the direct
map, a snippet of which is--

        /usr/local/bin dcssw:&.$ARCH dcsfsg:&.$ARCH dcsfsc:&.$ARCH

After adding $ARCH logic in /etc/rc.d/init.d/autofs I get
"No such file or directory" when I cd to /usr/local/bin. I then
tried--

        /usr/sbin/automount /- file /etc/auto.direct
where-- /etc/auto.direct
                ----------------
                |/usr/local/share dcssw:& dcsfsg:& dcsfsc:&

and got the same results. I've searched RedHat.com for info but
find little. Any help?

Thanks,
Andy Young
