Yes; Jeremy has done some things with autofs v3 that I never quite
thought possible :) I am currently considering releasing an autofs v4
based on (but not identical to) Jeremy's changes and push the ground-up
rewrite off until autofs v5; I still, however, want to do it. The
reason is fairly simple: it seems that I will not be able to get the
ground-up rewrite done in time for the 2.4 cycle (Linus has made it
clear he wants to shorten the kernel design cycle by a factor of 3), and
I really want to get these features in.
