hi ya brian
what is your virtual host doing ??
- if it is up... it can autofs mount the win95...
- if it is down... it does not matter ?? ( no linux box ? )
Depending on which samba distribution you have, there is two
smbmount commands
smbmount //Win95/C passwd -c 'mount /mnt/Win95 ' -U Administrator
- or -
smbmount //Win95/C /mnt/Win95 -U Administrator -P passwd
- if neither of thse two commands commands works...
there is more digging to do on the Win95 shares...
smbclient -L Win95 -U Administrator
( should show you a list of shares )
For your autofs entry:
/etc/auto.master
/.autofs /etc/auto.misc --timeout 60
/etc/auto/misc
home -fstype=nfs home:/export/home
Win95 -fstype=smbfs,login=Administrator,passwd=xxxxx Win95:/C
you get to access your autofs mounted fs from /.autofs/Win95/*
but you need to arrange your symlinks for /mnt/Win95 vs /.autofs/Win95
to say /net/Win95 to be independent of mounting methods
have fun
