since mandrake is "sorta similar" to rh ??...

can you manually mount those exported (solaris/sun) dirs on the linux box...
        - redhat-6.0 has some rpc(?) incompatibility between sun and rhg-6.0
          ( needed to put ver=2  into the /etc/vfstab file )
        - it also does reverse lookup checking of your host/ip#...

other than that... what does your linux autofs files look like ??
