Didn't see an archive anywhere so I'm not sure if this issue has been raised yet
or not...
I have a Solaris NFS server and a Linux NFS client. The NFS server has an
auto.home yp map and the client can successfully mount. The problem is that
during a make in the mounted directory the compile hangs and the "can't get a
request slot" error is generated.
The reason I'm posting to the autofs list is because this ONLY happens through
the automounter. I can manually mount the directory with the same parameters
and there is no hang and no error. Another important fact is that it only
happens using UDP. TCP through the automounter does not cause the hang nor the
error. I've tried different wsize, rsize on the client with no difference. Any
suggestions?
Setup:
Solaris NFS server

Solaris 2.7
Ultra1
Linux NFS client

I've tried various kernels but am currently running 2.2.17-0.17smp (this is one
of HJLu's kernels) with autofs-4.0.0pre7-23.0.3.
