problem with autofs-3.1.6

Hello,

I have installed autofs-3.1.7 and tryed also autofs-3.1.6,

when I try to run : /etc/init.d/autofs start,  No daemon is running.

I am working with nis automount maps , Solaris 2.6.

This is my first time working with Linux, and I wont the linux will be
able to read automount map

Where is my mistake?
