Hi!

I'd like to use autofs with NIS maps. NIS is setup to provide auto.master
and all other files.

Starting autofs starts correctly for my three autofs mountpoints, two of
them provided by NIS:

xcnlm03s:~ # ps axuf | grep autom
root 390 0.0 0.9 1360 648 ? S Mar27 0:01
/usr/sbin/automount /net program /etc/auto.net
root 410 0.0 1.0 1444 680 ? S Mar27 0:01
/usr/sbin/automount /home yp /etc/auto.home
root 444 0.0 1.0 1444 680 ? S Mar27 0:01
/usr/sbin/automount /misc yp /etc/auto.misc

/etc/auto.master:
xcnlm03s:~ # cat /etc/auto.master
/net /etc/auto.net

ypcat auto.master:
xcnlm03s:~ # ypcat auto.master
/etc/auto.home
/etc/auto.misc

But trying to change into one of these directories just gives an error:
xcnlm03s:~ # cd /misc/os
bash: cd: /misc/os: No such file or directory

In /var/log/messages:
Mar 28 12:36:55 xcnlm03s automount[444]: attempting to mount entry
/misc/os
Mar 28 12:36:55 xcnlm03s automount[6043]: lookup(yp): lookup for os
failed: No such map in server's domain

Shouldn't automount look in the map 'auto.misc' for a key named 'os' to
find server and exported file-systems?

The files I generate the NIS maps from are:

- auto.master:
xcnlm00s:/etc # cat auto.master
/home /etc/auto.home
/misc /etc/auto.misc

- auto.misc:
xcnlm00s:/etc # cat auto.misc
current -nfs,ro xcnlm00s.home:/export/pub/os/suse/${ARCH}/current
update -nfs,ro xcnlm00s.home:/export/pub/os/suse/${ARCH}/update
hw -nfs,ro xcnlm00s.home:/export/pub/hw
os -nfs,ro xcnlm00s.home:/export/pub/os
sw -nfs,ro xcnlm00s.home:/export/pub/sw

- auto.home:
xcnlm00s:/etc # cat auto.home
notes -rw xcknfaz2.home:/local/&
*               -rw                     xcnlm00s.home:/local/&

Any idea why this fails?
