Can you be a little more specific about what you need as a minimum right now.

There is some LDAP support present in autofs already.

The standard RedHat rpm patches to autofs v3 allow LDAP master maps and allow use of 
the most common 2 schema in use for LDAP maps . autofs as distributed only knows about 
the 'automount' schema and not the NIS schema. These LDAP patches look like they could 
be applied to autofs4 without much pain. In fact I like the rc script patch so much I 
plan on mergeing it into my patch as part of reworking LDAP.

I have had a brief look at the LDAP requirements for adding ghosting functionality but 
will not be doing anything on it until the current cleanup patches are stable. This is 
going well due to help from a couple of list members and if there are no suprises will 
be done within a week.

So bottom line is ghosted LDAP maps are not being worked on yet and I cannot give you 
an estimate of how long it will take to complete at this time.
