Hi Ron, options.h is not included with the autogen package on Red Hat. You must also install the autogen-devel package. I do not understand why they separated things the way they did, but there it is.
I understand that the "columns.autogen" is very confusing. It confused me, also. They renamed it that way "just in case" POSIX comes along and declares a different utility to be the official "columns" program. There is an integrated mechanism for aliasing "columns" to "columns.autogen" for the entire system. But do not ask me how this is done because I do not know. :( Good luck.
