I think it works if you do this:

libwine_la_SOURCES =
EXTRA_libwine_la_SOURCES =

This is pretty obscure.


Actually it seems to me that what you tried ought to work.
Did you try the cvs automake?  This might be something that changed
post-1.4.

(I remember addressing this before, but it was so long ago I don't
remember the outcome.)
