Fabien,
Two things:
1) there is a very poor one in jakarta-avalon-apps/httpproxy, I think you are referring to that as 'scache' ?
2) GPL software, according the FSF rules only, cannot import any Apache interface or class.
You could convince the author of Muffin to change to LGPL or BSD license I guess, then do a migration or port to be based on Phoneix, possibly also with his/her consent.
Alternatively, you could write your phoenix code as BSD license, and in that instantiate Muffin as a bean and have it passively running inside Phoenix.
As for usefullness, yes it would be VERY useful. There are so many auditing/reporting/caching/optimizing possibilities for such a beast.

Hello avalon-apps-dev,
It does not seem like there is any http proxy written for avalon/phoenix. I did some modifications on GPL Muffin proxy server to be able to decrypt/filter HTTPS connections (httpssniffer.sourceforge.net) and I am thinking of porting it to avalon/phoenix. The main purpose is for me to learn more about avalon/phoenix because after several spent hours thinking about it I am not sure this port would be really useful.
I just read in your archive about scache proxy server and I am planning on studying it versus Muffin.
Regards,
Fabien
