Hi,
What does everyone thing about changing Phoenix to rely on JDK1.3? The reason
is that to go to the next stage in development we need 2 features - Proxy and
ability to blend security descriptiosn ala JAAS. We can get away with not
using permission blending but not without Proxys.
We could rewrite the code or negotiate with the other groups that havbe
rewritten it (mainly EJB devs) however this is considerable amount of work.
Each time I go to do it I conveniently fins something else more interesting
to do ;)
In worst case scenario if we need to keep JDK1.2 compatibility we could
develope using 1.3 and then when we need to goto beta status, rewrite
supporting infrastructure. Thoughts?
