I just downloaded jBoss, and will install it to play around.
I was thinking that if it comes with any examples/tutorials,
we (that is, you...) could take one of those and add an Avalon
dimension to it.

I'm leaning to an architecture like this for my projects:

* Avalon as a framework for all components, be them EJBs
  or straight classes.
* Some Avalon (Excalibur?) prebuilt components for the
obvious stuff, like logging, configuration, etc.
* Struts for the navigational logic. (To be decided: use
  JSPs or Velocity with Struts?).
* Development: Win2K, mySQL, jBoss and jetty.
* Deployment: AIX, DB/2, WebSphere 4 (kind of fixed).

Anybody has any comments, criticism, flames, or otherwise
interesting thoughts you could share with me?

Yup, 25% swiss, 25% german, 25% spanish, 25% chilean... To my
shame, ich spreche nicht Deutsche (probably wrongly spelled!).
