That's awfully hard on a mailing list, there should probably be a real-life get-together.
What has happened on Cocoon is a very good example of this : we had a get-together last November to which more than half of the active committers and many active participants attended (there were 100 people), and this has formed a real friendship in the group. For those subscribed there, you know what I'm talking about.
Talking face to face allows faster problem resolution than flame-wars in mailing-lists or CVS repositories. This project has damn good code and damn good people. Too bad it went where it is today. I really hope you all will be able to get out of this and continue building nice stuff _together_.
