Unfortunately not.  The JTAGICEmkII or AVRDRAGON are basically usable
(I'm using them in daily work), just avoid single-stepping wherever
possible.

If you've got a chance, give the AVaRICE from SVN a try.  I've
reorganized the entire error handling, it should be a lot more stable
now, and if something goes wrong with the ICE, it bails out without
leaving the ICE in an unusable state (as it used to be the case
before).

If you want to debug Xmega devices, you have to use the most recent
firmware version (from Atmel Studio 5).
