I am using qtrecompress to compress the audio of an AVI to mp3. It seems
that the "strf" header is not fully compatible with windows. (It plays in
windows, but I get errors when trying to convert it in VDub. Also, when I
get properties on the file, the audio info is missing).

My hexeditor does not allow me to copy and paste, so I made this jpg from
screen
shots. Please look:

I don't understand exactly why virtual dub's header is a few bytes longer,
but it makes a difference. Currently, I can't get vdub to convert files
made by avifile because of this reason. This is a problem because I am
about to buy a large capture setup (3 machines) which will depend on
avifile, but this one problem is holding me back.

Has anyone else noticed this same problem?
