Are you using SdlAudioRenderer or just pure OssAudioRenderer
(which is not yet rewritten for the new timing code which requires
that audio time has milisecond precision)
Also I've noticed that other avifile developer (piro)
had made some changes to the locking mechanism in aviplay.cpp which are
activated just only for __FreeBSD__ - I've been quite surpriced with these
changes as they are not correct in multithreaded environment,
but I've believed they had some purpose for this system.
Maybe you could try to replace __FreeBSD__ with __NetBDS__
and recompile - if that would solve the problem with player on
NetBSD its not problem to add or to this define.

I'm wondering from where this message came from ???
Are you using recent Qt ??
