Ok now that I've successfully figured out how to mount my
CD-ROMs I can access one of my backup files to verify the
problem I am having.

That was: trying to right-click in the movie window when an
unplayable movie is loaded will crash AVIplay.

Sure enough this only occurs with a bad movie file - loading a
working file allows me to right-click safely.

Now the problem: there are two configuration menus in Aviplay
(0.53.5) - one is the [?] button on the control panel, the
other is that right click menu. I'm told I need to change one
of the options under "Config: Misc." to fix the high-pitched
ringing present if ESD is running (a 48 kHz-to-44 kHz
conversion problem).

The problem is, I can find no such menu. If I click [?] I see
"Usage, About, and Config"; Config takes me to a menu where I
can adjust four parameters: The font used for subtitles, the
Audio/Video synch, the subtitle synch, and the 2d hardware
accelration enable.

The other menu is the one I get when I right-click the movie
window - in that menu I have three Zoom options (2x, 1x, 0.5x),
Fullscreen and Maximize options, the current movie's
properties, and the Decoder Config. Only the Decoder Config
gives me any options to adjust, and they are the Quality/CPU
balance, and Saturation, Hue, Bright, and Contrast.

What am I missing? Is my version just too old? (Maybe the
changes I'm looking for only exist in the 0.6 CVS?)
