Hello everyone
Some interesting news for this week.
Aviplayer should be now able to play few more files
(I've been checking them only with samples from mplayer site as I've never ever
seen these codecs - but they works and might be usefull for someone - btw
some of them do not work with mplayer)
Here are types: ZLIB, MSZH, ASV1, ASV2 (Asus), VCR2 (Ati), AP41 (AngelPotion)
also we should fully support uncompressed RGB, YUY2, YV12 (also for compression)
moreover direct rendering mode has been slightly redesigned so now its should work
for most of the modes except for x11 buffered mode.
Special care has been taken for correct orintation of images and conversion
to all modes (so even if codecs doesn't support YUV mode user should be able
to use hw-overlay with YUV (of course conversion is done in software and currently in
non-optimized way) but you may use hw scaling and image looks better in this mode
anyway.
On the other hand users without hw-acceleration should be able to see correct
pictures from codecs which are producing only YUV images.
There are many variations so if you see incorrect images or some other problems
with this new code - let me know.

Another new thing which is still highly experimental - we try to use aliased
Xft rendering - but there are still some bugs - so if anyone wants stable player
- please disable xft compilation (--disable-xft) for moment.
But to resolve all issues fast - I'd like to get in touch with people who
are working with multibyte encoding so we could support non-latin languages
and if there is anyone who would explain me why Qt Font dialog supports
only Latin1 encoding and who could I force it to support also Latin2
(as Czech need iso8859-2) that would really help me a lot.
