But as for the coredumping - I don't get any.
But I bet its because I use --enable-lame-bin
You have to install libmp3lame library (ideally from Lame cvs)
Then this plugin will load this library at runtime.
Definitely it works for me - checked - and the created file has
multiple audio channels and works

Not sure - but it's possible that old lame3.70 is really to old -
go and try with latest Lame
