[Avifile]Error during configure

Hi
        I have tried to install Avifile but get the following error during the 
configure process :-

Configure: error: Unacepable QT installation detected! You need Qt 2.1.0 or 
higher....

My system is Suse 7.1 and uses Qt 2.2.3 
Can you give me any information as to how I can get round this >
