I have thought of it and may do it in the next weeks/months, I want avifile to
support not only ogg but also mpg, qt and realmedia, because avifile and
aviplay are damn fine pieces of code and it would be a waste not to use their
advantages also for other multimedia protocols. Ogg and MPEG will be the first
ones I'm planning to implement, because there are fully functional open source
libraries for both the container protocol and codec already.

I don't think so, you can ask in vorbis-devel mailing list. Most importantly a
FOURCC will have to be registered for vorbis codec. It may be that it already
is, I don't know.
I think you'd need to clarify your question precisely. There is no "ogg-vorbis
in .avi" thing. You can either ask about:
1. ogg/vorbis support in the avifile library (this is what I plan to do)
2. or vorbis codec inside of .avi (this will be made possible if I do 1 but
until a FOURCC is known won't work).
