What video card are you running? This sounds like a bug with your
driver. For example, the released version of the tdfx_drv in XFree86
crashes on some colorspaces in XVideo, notably YUY2 and UYVY. This is
fixed in cvs XFree86, but not in any released version of XFree86. I'm
running cvs from a few weeks ago and it is cool with those colorspaces
now. I don't know any other video cards that have this problem, but if
you have a 3dfx card, this would probably be your problem.
