yes

./mplayer -benchmark -nosound -vo x11
/download/samples/angels_480-compressed\(low\).avi
BENCHMARKs: V: 31.959s VO: 23.631s A: 0.000s Sys: 5.323s = 60.912s
BENCHMARK%: V: 52.4666% VO: 38.7945% A: 0.0000% Sys: 8.7389% = 100.0000%

with -vo xv
BENCHMARKs: V: 25.363s VO: 8.597s A: 0.000s Sys: 2.382s = 36.342s
BENCHMARK%: V: 69.7897% VO: 23.6568% A: 0.0000% Sys: 6.5535% = 100.0000%

and now as we are already benchmarking, -vo xv with -vc ffdivx (FFMpeg divx
codec, benchmakrs above are with -vc divxds, win32 dshow divx codec):
BENCHMARKs: V: 15.021s VO: 8.059s A: 0.000s Sys: 2.358s = 25.438s
BENCHMARK%: V: 59.0495% VO: 31.6812% A: 0.0000% Sys: 9.2693% = 100.0000%

of course the best divx quality/speed you get with mplayer-cvs -vc ffdivx
-autoq 6 -vo xv (or sdl). Oops we're on avifile list :)

OT: does aviplay have a benchmark mode like mplayer, would like to compare a
bit...
