Oh yes - as mentioned Felix it really might be a problem with sound chip -
as some  on-the-chip low quality/cheap sound cards (mainly on VIA boards) have
locked frequency to 48KHz

if this is your problem - simply select resampling in config Audio and
set both parameter to 48KHz and restart the player.
