of course it's your right to think that we are not try to do our best
and we are producing '*' which is not compilable for anyone - But

I guess there are not many packages who are really trying to test 
how portable auto* stuff really is - most packages distributes just
configure (we do it as well in CVS snapshot but we are to lazy to
do them frequently :))

Also it's really hard to fix all problems especially when users
are replacing their installed packages and thier package system
is so ... (ok stoping here my myself)
and when automake is not compatible between releases itself.

I've already noted that the best way to learn autoconf is to look
at many other projects as well.

and at last - auto* has a lot of info pages...
