we are moving away from STL - we have our own avm::string
and avm::vector and that's all we need

all the function in libaviplay takes and uses these parametr
and you can't mix them with standard STL function
so be careful

I've looked at these ports - but I'm prefereing our 100 line
implementation over 600KB of STL headers... - and simply too
slow for gcc3.0....
