Hi,

I was not trying to insult you ;) I was just genuinely wondering why you
use such a different versioning scheme from other free software projects.
I do understand your reasoning behind this but I just wanted to say that
diverging from standards causes some problems as well... I wouldn't mind
if your "true" releases had bugs in them, since it's impossible not to
have them.

Hm, ok.
In that case, the spec files need to be adjusted, because they rely on the
tarball being called avifile-0.6.tar.gz.  If I could be of help in fixing
rpm-related issues like these, let me know.
