Works for me, too.  aviplay gives me a segmentation fault on exit, but
that's infinitely better than segfaulting on startup.

What settings should I try?  1 pass, CBR, highest bitrate my hard
drive is happy with?  I'm assuming higher bitrates mean it doesn't
need to "compress as hard" and so wouldn't use as much CPU... and
anyway if I'm going to recompress to fit video onto CD-R later, I want
to try and reduce recompression artifacts.
