Hi, I've been using avifile for quit some time now. I have been using the newer avifile (> 0.5.53.5) on and of. I am mostly using it to record from TV with vcr. The problem with the newer avifile versions is that the bitrate setting is not configurable or seems ignored. Today I tried avifile0.7.7-20020523 instead of the usual CVS version together with avirec. I all works beautifully but changing the bitrate doesn't seem to change anything. The CPU load stays the same so is the filesize.
