Hi, I just encountered some strange audio effects:
It seems to be in avifile-0.7.7 and 0.7.8. I use KDE and when artsd is disabled, on several movies the sound gets strangly distorted. Well, when I enable artsd, aviplay gives a segmentation fault on playing a special movie, but other movies are played fine. I havn't tried yet, if the strange sound distortion also appears when artsd is enabled. Furthermore, I was used to use '+' and '-' to adjust the sound volume, but this only works when artsd is enabled -- is there a reason why? (I'm using lastest alsa-0.5x drivers, if this might help). I have attached the output of gdb'ing the aviplay core file. Please don't hesite to ask if you have further questions. Best regards, Bernd
