You shouldn't use aviplay (or any other user app) as root user in the
first place - it's dangerous and might seriously harm your system....

system freeze is ALWAYS bug of kernel - check different -rc version
-acX versions are usually highly experimental - you should
report the problem to the linux-kernel mailing list if it will
work with other kernels (assuming you have enough skills for this -
otherwice you really shouldn't use such experimental kernels -
it might damage your whole filesystem in few seconds...)
