rather --video-codec (or -vc - yes it's really supposed to be
compatible with mplayers' option set were it's possible)
so
aviplay -vc help
will give you a list of codecs - in your case you could use qdv or ffdv
(again the names should be similar to those in mplayer - if
you find a diff - let me know and I'll fix it)
(i.e. aviplay -vc ffdv testdv.avi)
As always you could reconfigure everything at runtime - so if
you prefer ffmpeg version just put in the preference list ahead of
DVSD (MainConcept) in config dialog.
Also you could set the prefered order via your mentioned
--codecs_video option this way: --codecs_video qdv, ffdv (or even just qdv)
however this options has string input and it's not yet fully supported
this it doesn't work so at this moment it's only GUI configurable.
As I've show few usage of options - here are few more tricks and
tips -
aviplay --codec help will show all codecs which are available
aviplay --codec ffdivx:help will show extra options for ffdivx codec
all these options are being automaticaly rememebered and used for next start
if someone wants to set defaults
aviplay --codec ffdivx:defaults will make it
there could be a long list of these options and they are parsed left to right
those even something like
aviplay --codec ffdivx:defaults --codec ffdivx:bug_qpel_chroma=1 shouldn't
be a problem.
(Hmm I'm really currious if I'll ever document this somewhere -
but anyway - using --help should be somewhare helpfull here)
