Well and how many people do you think are developing avicap - 1 (one)
And you can't expect I'll install every distro to check how
/dev is used there.

checkout latest CVS version (there have been numerouse bugs
with args processing fixed)

Most probably a bug 

But if you really want to fix it fast I affraid you will have to send 
me a patch to correct this problem.
