Hi,

It seems that kv4lsetup and avicap are rather ignorent about accepting
another video device as input. Every attempt results in defaulting to
/dev/video which has been a directory on RedHat for ages.

So trying to change the default video input device gives me:

kv4lsetup -l /dev/video
can't open /dev/video: Is a directory

So the -l option is simply ignored?

While attempting to change it in avicap it simply prints "/dev/video" in
the "BTTV capture device" box again after clicking ok.

Is this a feature or a bug?

BTW after changing various header files it workes with /dev/video0 but
that's not really a good option.

Cheers,

Jurgen
