Common default behaviour of package is to install itself into
/usr/local/ directory - thus if you don't have set path
to /usr/local/bin and you libraries aren't being searched in
/usr/local/lib you might eventually have some problems :)

If you really wish to install aviplay right into your
/usr/bin - you will have to pass configure options ' --prefix=/usr '
(But I would have strongly suggested to not doing so)

It might be good idea to try first to use already packaged versions.

Installing binaries directly into system might lead into a lot of
trash on your filesystem later (i.e. older unusable libraries...)

If you want to install binaries yourself I would have suggest
to take some look at programs like 'stow'.
