Yesterday, I gave a workshop to some researchers in Aberdeen, MD. To support 
the workshop, someone whipped up an Ubuntu LiveDVD with Avogadro -- this worked 
pretty well, particularly for packages like Open Babel, Qt, and Eigen which 
were easy to install using the "Ubuntu Customization Kit" (UCK) which allows 
modifying the default ISOs.

Right now, we have no one maintaining the Ubuntu packages, which linger at 
1.0.0.

Any Ubuntu users want to step up? Even having someone build packages which may 
not be officially blessed by Ubuntu would be great.
