I'm just interested in a default dependency-free version. IMHO, it's a good thing that Avo has very few dependencies and is easy to compile. I know VTK is becoming more modular and easier to compile, but it's still a pretty big addition. (Consider that I develop on Mac, and while there are Qt binaries, there are no VTK binaries.) So yes, if someone has a non-VTK volume rendering code they'd like to contribute, I'll gladly work with them to help get it going. -Geoff P.S. Aaron -- you don't happen to also have ambient occlusion, do you? I've always liked the effects in QuteMol and VMD. :-) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Magic Quadrant for Content-Aware Data Loss Prevention Research study explores the data loss prevention market.
