Follow-up Comment #1, bug #29581 (project avrdude):
"free software" is a much less binding term than "open source".
For example, Microsoft claims that its "Internet Explorer"
is freeware. I don't want to put AVRDUDE onto the same level
as Microsoft's Internet Explorer.
