Good news then. For now I guess I will submit this patch as-is to the
bug tracker, mostly as a placeholder. As soon as #34302 is applied and
sorted out I will submit a second patch using the new syntax.

I also created a texi/info patch for the m32m1. But if patch #7687 is
being applied before the next release, I guess there's no need for it.
