Do you guys think that's video, or a 3D model?
thats a video made with a 3d model :)

Do you guys think that's video, or a 3D model?

I hear you guys. I know it's not ideal, but there's no harm in
asking :)
I was just hoping someone had dome something to at least prove it's
possible. I've done a lot of looking around, but haven't really found
anything approaching decent quality cars in Flash. I'll probably have
to fall back to Laurent's solution: bring in rendered images.
Thanks for the prompt response, guys!
Cheers

It's possible, but not really in the realm of reality :)
A 10,000 polygon car shouldn't need a normal map, but for
arguments sake it
could get rendered, but it wouldn't run well at realtime.
So for rendering one frame every few seconds, should surely be
possible, and
worth a try.

I think that what I'm going for is having a 3D model at somewhere
around this quality that you could rotate in a static way like
the way
these guys are doing it... probably in a plain white environment. I
know that these are png outputs of a 3D scene, but I was hoping
that I
could replicate the effect in away.

I'm sort of a noob to Flash 3D and I was wondering whether you
guys
thought it would be possible to render a 10,000 polygon car
model with
normal mapping in away3d? It wouldn't necessarily have to be
animated,
it would just have to allow the user to switch between different
camera angles and show a good quality render. I was hoping that we
could get something like this (minus the driver):
